The goal of the project is to have by the end of 2010 Wetlands livelihoods-environment issues in Pemalang and Banten bay (Indonesia) recognized in policy and translated into practice through enhanced inter-sectoral planning and effective and sustainable resources on the ground.

This project aims to stimulate ecotourism in Sedili Kechil in Johor province of Malaysia. It provides many activities to tourists who come to the area. This strengthens the livelihoods of the local community of Sedili, which are connected to the wetlands. there are also other activities for the local population. E.g. fishing is an active part of their daily lives. Wetlands are also important, as leaves and plant extract from the trees are used as local resources in infrastructural, medicinal and cultural aspects of their lives.

This project focusses on the mainstreaming of sustainable wetland management principles and practice into the development of poverty reduction strategies through local and international partnerships in DAC1 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It will do this by enhancing of existing and supporting development of new policies at local, national and international levels, with specific inclusion of the water and health sectors and by ensuring due attention to the need for equitable development.
The project will develop a plan for hydrological, restoration of degraded peatlands in Brunei within the Heart of Borneo initiative. It will also address develop regional cooperation and mutual partnerships between the three HOB countries, build capacity in relevant government constitution and build awareness at high levels of government to promote adoption of rehabilitation measures for preventing carbon emissions, fires and haze and have a positive impact on climate both regionally and globally.

The main objective is to develop a comprehensive picture of the status of mangrove ecosystems in the proposed Tun Mustapha Park, Kudat Priority Conservation Area, Sulu-Sulawesi Marine Ecoregion.

The Coastal Habitats and Resources Management (CHARM) project was a five year collaboration between the European Union (EU) and the Royal Thai Government (RTG), implemented through the Department of Fisheries (DoF) and CHARM's own staff. CHARM aimed to produce a coastal resource management framework through the promotion of co-management between the RTG at all levels and the private sector, non-government organizations and local communities.

The project aimed to assess the importance of wetlands along the Ranong and Phang-Nga coast for biodiversity, and specifically to identify critical areas for waterbirds and wetland habitat conservation and promote their values as indicators of the overall biodiversity in the area.

Wetlands International-Thailand Office in collaboration with Mangrove Action project-Asia Regional Office and Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) are carrying out a demonstration project on mangrove restoration with cost effective aims at using "Ecological Mangrove Restoration (EMR)" as a new method to restore a degraded mangrove habitat caused by shrimp farming impacts to demonstrate the effectiveness of EMR.

This project aims to raise awareness in the development and humanitarian aid sector for the need to take the values of wetlands into account in their plans and activities for Pattani Bay. The project has been successful in promoting mangrove replanting and for establishment of community patrol for illegal fishing gears.
